My monkey is a french gallery. It’s small. It’s in a small city. But it’s a good place to see good contemporary art & graphic design. My monkey is a french non-profit organization which heads a gallery for contemporary art & graphic design. Since 2003, My monkey gallery has presented more than 130 exhibitions and edited 20 books or zines. This specific observatory is focused on graphic design and its relationship with other fields such as art, drawing, typography, photography or video. By their different approaches – either based on experiments or commissioned works – guest artists contribute both to enlarge the vision of the discipline and redefine its territory.
The voluntary team of designers and curators at My monkey organises and takes part to exhibitions, ‘special’ events or actions like performances, design contests, book launches, book fairs, editions, workshops and lectures all year long.
My monkey is also a small coworking space for creative nomads who need a desk for a day, a week or a month. Besides the connected office, members may learn and benefit from one another’s experience and know-how. A photo studio, a workshop, a Riso printer, a library and a paper collection are accessible too.
